The engine is at 1.6 litre normally aspirated with carburettors. It's got drum brakes which we have to run. We went racing in America and got pole position and blew an engine. The Americans reckon we cheat so we told him come and watch us build the engine, but you just can't take photographs. Their head mechanic said “you know that can go bigger in the pistons”. I said “We know we can, we don't need to”. So in many ways we are ahead of the Americans.

It's raced at Laguna Sega-Monterey several times. The last time we won absolutely every race and beat Patrick Long the Porsche Factory Driver who was also in a 356. We've also won at Sebring-Florida, Road Atlanta-Georgia and Watkins Glen-New York.

It holds the class lap record at Bathurst. It's the fastest 356 to circle Bathurst. It holds lap records at Eastern Creek.

It also won the 356 Concourse at Carmel by the Sea and the Lighthouse show so it literally cleaned up when we went over to the US last time.

Featured in German auto film festival with a movie about it called the Road to Monterey. It's been seen on Qantas in-flights movie channel.
