Vesuvio Edition
This Porsche 993 Vesuvio Edition is a rare and highly sought-after variant of the 993 Carrera S (originally a C16 specification).
The Vesuvio Edition is characterized by its unique "Vesuvio Metallic" paint color, which is an eye-catching and color-changing hue that shifts appearance under different lighting conditions. Only a total of 60 Porsche 993 Vesuvio Editions were produced worldwide. This includes both manual and Tiptronic transmission versions, making it one of the rarest variants of the 993 Carrera S model, and according the Porsche Club of Victoria, only 5 of these cars were imported to the Australia from which less than 3 cars included the desirable 6 speed manual gearbox.
Further, this vehicle included some of the rarest upgrades/options offered at the time; extended leather, hard back sport seats (extremely rare for 993’s in Australia) and steel grey accents on door mirror caps and the rear engine cover/spoiler, creating a very distinctive (from factory) aesthetic.
Lastly, as this vehicle was manufactured in late 1997 it also included the desirable varioram engine which produced slightly more power and torque (285 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque) and with an upgraded factory ECU it produced a different power delivery, with more mid-range torque and a smoother power curve.
This specific and extremely rare specification adds to the vehicle's exclusivity and value in the Porsche community.
