This car is Chassis Number 1 for all 911S models - Called "Versuch" in German or Prototype in English. Built in 1967 to be used by the Porsche test department from 1967 until 1969 as a prototype to further develop the 911 range. During its time in the Porsche test Department it was fitted out with various newly designed and upcoming
parts for testing and development such as brake, gauges, interior, engines and gearboxes. The car was even converted to a long wheel base during this time. The car was sold or given to Hans Herman in 1969. The car landed up in South Africa and was discovered as a Barn Find in 2011. The car sat in a junk filled garage for 26 years in a house just outside of Johannesburg. Only 3 recorded Owners are known. Since 2011 the car has undergone a complete restoration back to as close as possible 1967 build specifications.
